The Minutes of the Council for 10 January 1935 report that the Committee for the Universities Prize Essay were impressed by the high level of excellence shown by all competitors and that the prize was awarded to Miss Dorothy Anne Louise Stede of Girton College, Cambridge, and that a further book prize would be awarded to George Edward Holderness of Keble College, Oxford. Also the Committee for the 1935 award were appointed. The Minutes for 14 February 1935 record that is was decided to invite the winner to attend the General Meeting on 8 March to receive the award.
In the Report of the Anniversary General Meeting in the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society 1935 (3), pp.593-594, there is an account of the Universities Prize Essay and the winner Dorothy Anne Louise Stede.
