All written in Arabic script, possibly Persian or Urdu, and with what appear to be official stamps. Many items are in table format, though some are short fragments and others letters.
Hindi letter on cloth-like paper addressed to the kacheri (office) of Elliot at Shimla, dated 1847.

An item likely sent to Elliot, listing the population of English counties according to an 1841 census. Handwritten list.
The printed material consists of James Thomason's settlement report on the district of Azamgarh, from 1837 and a copy of a Hindi lithographed newspaper, the 'Shimla Akhbar', of 15th April 1848.
Within this series there are rubbings probably from inscriptions on copper plates, diagrams of agricultural tools and a hand-drawn map of Baiswara.
