The Royal Asiatic Society has produced a Journal from the early years of its formation and continues to do so. This material covers the records made in the production, administration and distribution of the Journal.
Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland 1823- London, EnglandThe Papers of Angus C. Graham include material pertaining to both book and article publications, to reviews written and to his translation, poetry and short story work. It includes correspondence with other academics in his field and with some poets. There is material pertaining to appointments that he has held and conferences attended, notebooks, diaries and a single photograph. There is also a considerable volume of others' articles and some material concerning others' academic appointments.
Graham Angus Charles 1919-1991Letter from R.H. Robbins and Edward Ullendorff to announce a linguistic symposium to take place on 1-2 June to discuss Theodora Bynon's "Historical Linguistics" and Ruth Kempson's "Semantic Theory".

- Letter from RAS Secretary to Professor E. Ullendorff to invite him, on behalf of the Council, to be a member of the Selection Committee for the Prize Essay Competition. Typed, 1 side, dated 21 June 1971. With the letter are two lists of the essays proposed. Both typed with handwritten annotations.
- Letter from Edward Ullendorff to Miss Crawford, RAS Secretary, to write that he would be glad to act as a member of the Selection Committee. Typed with printed letterhead, 1 side, dated 5 July 1971.
- Letter from RAS Secretary to Professor Ullendorff to inform him that a Committee of three had been nominated for the Competition, of himself, Dr Bivar and Professor Simmonds. Typed, 1 side, dated 19 October 1971.
- Letter from Edward Ullendorff to Miss Crawford, RAS Secretary, to ask if he could be excused from serving on the Committee due to a heavy workload. Typed with printed letterhead, 1 side, dated 25 October 1971.
- Letter from Diana Crawford, RAS Secretary to Professor Ullendorff to ask concerning a letter to the Ethiopian Ambassador and also whether he would clarify his position concerning the Prize Essay Selection Committee, Typed, 1 side, dated 5 November 1971.
Correspondence concerned with the Journal sent and received in the 1950s and 1960s. These are:
- Correspondence concerning the publication of an article by the late Sir Ellis Minns on "Frozen Scythic Barrows". These include letters from [L.J] Lindgren to Sir Richard Winstedt, and William Watson, Assistant keeper, Department of Oriental Antiquities, British Museum, to Mrs Davis, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society. Four letters, dated 7 June 1954 - 15 February 1957. The last letter is annotated with a note to state that Dr Lindgren had failed to complete the editing of the article and more recent articles had now superseded its relevance.
- Letter from R.M.S. Morrison to Sir Richard Winstedt to thank him for agreeing to put the paper, "On the beginnings of the Ismaili Dawat in Northern India" by Dr. Abbas H. al-Hamdani before the Editorial Committee for possible publication in the Journal, dated 2 February 1956. With the letter is an extract from a letter by Dr al-Hamdani that Morrison had received.
- Letter from H. Ellinton to the Royal Asiatic Society, to enquire whether the Society had published a report on the excavations carried out by Dr Viola Pettit, dated 8 January 1957.
- Letter from K.A.C. Creswell to Sir Richard Winstedt complaining about the lack of reviews of his publications, dated 12 September 1962.
- Letter from Edward Ullendorff to D.M. Lang to inform that after the Conference in July he would be in a position to know which of the Ethiopic material would be relevant for the Journal, dated 11 April 1963.
- Correspondence concerning the printing of the article "Etudes d'Orientalisme dédiées à la mémoire de Lévi-Provencal". Three items, dated 18 November - 11 December 1963.
- Correspondence concerning an article by Mr. M. Abir which was considered to Asiatic for the Journal of African History and a subsequent later revised publication in Les Annales. Nine items, dated 18 February 1964- 9 November 1965.
Graham attended a number of conferences during his academic career. This series contains correspondence about his attendance at some of them and subsequent publications.
Graham Angus Charles 1919-1991This consists of administrative correspondence with candidates and examiners, and notices of the competition.

This series contains representative samples of the types of administrative letters and those considered to be of archival value, dating from 1901 to the current day.
Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and IrelandThis series contains administrative correspondence and notices including correspondence with candidates. There are examples of the pseudonym mottoes and verification required by the Society, and a copy of the Prize Essay.
