The Left Hand from a Buddha

The left hand from a Buddha statue in Abhaya Mudra position. The hand is cut at wrist level. The hand is made of metal, length 20cm, width 6cm, and shows traces of gold gilding. The cut of the hand reveals that is was made by the lost-wax technique. Its provenance is unknown.

Inserted into one of the volumes is a Purchase Order from the Library of Congress for new books and periodicals. Inserted within the other volume is printed music and lyrics for 'Malayan Patriotic Song' and a sheet of handwritten notes.
