Graham Angus Charles 1919-1991Description of an archaeological site by Capt. Newbold, entitled "The Site of Bether, the Bittir of the Arabs" which he states is the site of the struggles of the Jews against the Romans in the reign of Adrian A.D. 135. Newbold records his journey to the site from Jerusalem and his discoveries. A note reads: "Recorded 16th June 1849". With the paper is a label stating "The Site of Bether".

The letter gives a comprehensive account of the book and its production and is signed as by written Benjamin Clough (1791-1853), Wesleyan Missionary in Sri Lanka, and dated 25 March, 1824. A further label reads "Sir A Johnston, Jan 7 1826". Handwritten, 1 piece, 3 sides.

"The Significance of the First European Travellers to the Mongols" - prizewinning essay by Gavin Richard Grenville Hambly using the motto, "Ig-Drasil". Typed manuscript, 18 pages, undated. With this essay is a note from L. Wilkinson, Senior Tutor of King's College Cambridge, to certify that Hambly was an undergraduate at the College. Typed and handwritten with printed crest, dated 17 January 1956.

On inside of front cover is written "A. Hamilton, G.C. Haughton, Jany 1825" Handwritten manuscript bound in leather. This volume is in poor condition and needs careful handling.
