Graham Angus Charles 1919-1991Description of an archaeological site by Capt. Newbold, entitled "The Site of Bether, the Bittir of the Arabs" which he states is the site of the struggles of the Jews against the Romans in the reign of Adrian A.D. 135. Newbold records his journey to the site from Jerusalem and his discoveries. A note reads: "Recorded 16th June 1849". With the paper is a label stating "The Site of Bether".

The letter gives a comprehensive account of the book and its production and is signed as by written Benjamin Clough (1791-1853), Wesleyan Missionary in Sri Lanka, and dated 25 March, 1824.
