Copy of an extract from the Overland Calcutta Star, 7th November 1845, to welcome Hodgson back to the country and to state that he has returned to pursue his scientific pursuits which they hope will encourage other Europeans in similar endeavours. A bust of Mr Hodgson, which the Asiatic Society requested in recognition of his services, is now in the large hall at the Museum in Park Street. It was executed by Mr Thornycroft and is considered a good likeness. Handwritten, 2 sides, dated 7 November 1845.
