Letter from C.A. Storey to A.J. Arberry to enclose a copy of Heffer's last letter to Raynes on the subject of binding which explains that the difficulty is due to shortage of binders. He also replies that he is fully aware of the condition of the material as he has spent much time with it since its transfer to Cambridge in 1941 and there is no question of deterioration. He suggests that the British Council would probably not be able to help with the situation of binders. He gives a more detailed explanation of the situation of the stock and suggests, in future, they trustees ensure volumes are immediately folded and stitched after printing as they cannot afford to keep stocks of flat sheets. With this letter are some notes in Storey's hand containing information about stock.

Letter from R. Levy to C.A. Storey to discuss the question of Brill being a co-publisher. He suggests Raynes should know when and why the original arrangement was ended but that it might be beneficial to have someone on the continent to distribute their volumes. He also writes that he is writing to Luzac to find out which of the Ellis books remain unsold.

Letter from W.L. Raynes, Clerk to the Trust, to C.A. Storey to enclose a letter from Dr. K. Jahn to which he is sure the Trust will be sympathetic. He asks Storey as to how to direct Luzac in complying with Kahn's request. With this letter is a copy, in Storey's hand, of the letter from Jahn in which he writes that he has found a provisional home in Holland and asks for some copies of his books and maybe others of the Gibb Memorial Series having lost his house, family and books in the war.

Letter from W.L. Raynes, Clerk to the Trust, to C.A. Storey to include some extracts from a letter received from Heffer. The extracts concern sheet stock for volumes they are folding and stitching to supply to Luzac.

Letter from C.A. Storey to University Press, Cambridge, to ask them to submit an estimate for the cost of printing Kitāb al-Tashbīhāt. Storey sends details of the volume and how he would undertake to ensure the spelling could be read in the handwriting. If they are willing to undertake the task he asks for them to print the specimen page he has sent for inspection.

Letter from University Press, Cambridge, to C.A. Storey to express their willingness to provide an estimate for Kitāb al-Tashbīhāt and asks for a complete manuscript in order to provide the estimate. They are setting a specimen which will be in Monotype cast.

Letter from Brooke Crutchley, University Printer, to C.A. Storey to inform of their experiments in setting up Arabic mechanically in Monotype cast for Kitāb al-Tashbīhāt and to provide an estimate of the costs for printing.

Letter from University Press, Cambridge, to C.A. Storey to thank for his letter stating their tender for Kitāb al-Tashbīhāt had been accepted. They ask for Storey to inform of the number of proofs required and suggest leaving the question of paper to see if the current controls will be relaxed. On this letter Storey has written a copy of his reply in which he suggests that he will need four to five sets of proofs some of which he will airmail to the editors in India. He thinks they will require only 500-600 copies but will consult with his colleagues to confirm this.

Letter from University Press, Cambridge, to C.A. Storey to inform that due to the agreement to increase wages and reduce hours of work in the printing industry the Press must increase its charges for composition, presswork and binding. He is unsure how this will affect Kitāb al-Tashbīhāt but will inform when this is known. On this letter Storey has written a copy of his reply in which Storey writes that he had assumed that there would be an increase in cost but is trying to minimise this by copying as much as possible of the manuscript in his own hand to increase the legibility.
