He writes that the Tibetan Sentences and Words books are both unprocurable and suggests Mackenzie may be able to get a copy from the Tibet Mirror Press which also has further books to distribute. Richardson may have some books at home but doesn't expect to be on leave for another year. He writes about the political state of Sikkim and his fears for Chinese takeover of Tibet.
Richardson Hugh 1905-2000Letter from Hugh Richardson to Fleming Mackenzie from Lhasa, 19 June 1950. He writes that Lhasa is in a continuous state of anxiety though the communists are staging a peace offensive. He is hoping to leave in September but is unsure who his successor will be. He writes of heavy rain and snow up to Phan. He sends a few stamps.
