Typed with printed letterhead, dated 3 September 1968. With the letter is a copy of the Commonwealth Office letter to Sir Esler Dening, dated 10 May 1968.
• Letter from Sir Gilbert Laithwaite, former Chairman of Royal Central Asian Society, to Charles Beckingham, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning the possibility of a closer working relationship between the two Societies. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 31 October 1968.
