Letter from Godfrey Thomas, Private Secretary, to Lord Reay, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform that the Prince of Wales (the future Edward VIII) would be unable to attend a dinner at the Society prior to him leaving for India. Typed with St James's Palace letterhead, dated 15 July 1921.
Researchers should look at the Minutes of the Council Meeting for this time period for further patronage information.

- A copy of the letter sent from the President of the Royal Asiatic Society to Her Majesty, the Queen-Mother, to express their deep sympathy at the death of her husband, George VI, dated 14 February 1952.
- Letter from Private Secretary, Buckingham Palace, to the President of the Royal Asiatic Society to thank, on behalf of the Queen Mother, the Society for its message of condolence, dated 21 February 1952. These two letters have been glued together in their left top corner.
The material within this series includes a Supplemental Charter, correspondence regarding the Queen's Patronage, correspondence regarding the deaths of her parents, correspondence regarding her relinquishment of the Patronage, and material regarding Buckingham Palace Garden Parties.

- Letter from Simon Gimson, Buckingham Palace, to Lydia Collins, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that he will ensure the Queen sees the Society's letter and that she should write to Stephen Lamport, the Prince of Wales's Private Secretary, concerning the Prince's Patronage. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 21 February 1997.
- Letter from Lydia Collins, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Stephen Lamport, St James's Palace, to ask whether the Prince of Wales would become the Patron of the Society. Typed letter with printed letterhead, dated 27 February 1997.
- Letter from Stephen Lamport, St James's Palace, to Lydia Collins, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that the Society's request for the Prince to become Patron will be considered at a meeting in a few weeks time. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 4 March 1997.
- Letter from Stephen Lamport, St James's Palace, to Lydia Collins, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that the Prince has agreed to take on the Patronage of the Royal Asiatic Society, initially for a five year term from 2000 to January 2005. Typed letter with printed letterhead, dated 15 July 1997.
- Letter from Francis Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Stephen Lamport, St James's Palace, to express the Society's pleasure that the Prince has agreed to become the Patron. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 25 July 1997.

- Letter from Professor Anthony Stockwell, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to James Kidner, Deputy Private Secretary, Clarence House, to ask whether the Prince would consent to be associated with the Society's fundraising campaign.
