Alexandre Anastasius Pallis was born on 20 October 1883 in Mumbai. He was educated at Eton and Balliol College, Oxford, and subsequently worked for the Egyptian Civil Service. He became a Greek citizen and was both Governor of Corfu and Salonika. Duringread more
