Letter from Terence Phelps to Michael Willis, 18 April 1998, in which he encourages that the British Museum should appraise the Piprahwa relics held by the Peppé family. He also sends some articles which concern potential copies of the relics. With the letter are photocopies of:
- part of a letter from the Chief Secretary, N.W. Provinces and Oudh, to the Secretary to the Government of India, Home Department concerning the relics;
- the letter from V.A. Smith in the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society, 1898;
- copy of a letter sent from Phelps to Neil Peppé, 10 January 1998;
- an annotated copy of 'The Annihilation of Lord Buddha's family' from the Pioneer, 18 August 1956;
- an extract from Debala Mitra's 'Buddhist Monuments';
- an extract from the catalogue of papers held by the Centre for South Asian Studies, Cambridge, with note by Phelps;
