Mowat, University of Bristol, to Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to ask whether it is possible for one of their students to enter the competition though he has been matriculated for six years rather than the specified five years in the rules. He asks whether an exception could be made as one of the years had been spent with training in the Education Department, during which time independent research was not allowed.
