Letter from George Tuthill to Thomas Manning from St Germain, France. Tuthill writes to Manning, who is staying with the de Serrants, about other English people caught in France. There is the possibility that all those in Paris will be sent to fortified cities such as Metz. One Englishman was exchanged for a captain of a French frigate, some have been given permission to return to England or travel to Germany, but Ferguson and Wilbrau were refused despite the solicitations of the Minister of War, Berthier, at request of Charles Fox.
