• "The Practical Study of Colonial Culture in Holland and France by Administrative Officials and Intending Settlers". An uncorrected proof of "A Paper to be read by John de La Valette before the Royal Society of Arts on Wednesday, January 20th, 1937, at 8.15 p.m. R.A. Butler Esq., M.P., Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for India, will preside".
• A compliment slip from the Royal Society of Arts, "With the Secretary's Compliments".
• Letter from Charles Otto Blagden, Vice-President of Royal Asiatic Society, to Col. Hoysted, Secretary of Royal Asiatic Society, to inform Hoysted that he has at last had a chance to read the Paper which is interesting because it contains a large number of facts about Dutch and French colonial activities not generally known. The letter is handwritten, dated 6 February 1937.

'The Intercourse of China with Eastern Turkestan and the Adjacent Countries in the Second Century B.C.' by Thomas William Kingsmill, published in the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society New Series, Vol. 14, No. 2 (Apr., 1882), pp. 74-104. The manuscript is written in a large soft-covered notebook and dated Shanghai, January 16 1878.

Thomas praising the connection between the Royal Asiatic Society and the Asiatic Society of Bengal.
