              Bernhard Dorn's, 'Description of the Celestial Globe belonging to Major-General Sir John Malcolm, G.C.B., K.L.S. &c., &c., deposited in the Museum of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland'. This is an offprint of the article published in the Transactions of the Royal Asiatic Society 1830, Volume II. The offprint contains two sketches on its inner front cover. With it is also a sheet of paper with Arabic script in ink and English annotations in pencil. There is also a letter from David [ ], Oriental and India Office Collections, The British Library, to Michael Pollock, Librarian, Royal Asiatic Society, to send the offprint and ask if the whereabouts of the globe is known, dated 1 November 2001.

              Correspondence with David Loman Ltd. regarding the purchase of offprints of the Society's Journal. The company asked to initially buy 4000 at a cost of £1000 and then a further 26,500 over the succeeding year. His offer was turned down by the Society's Publications Committee.

              Correspondence concerning an alleged debt for offprints of an article by B.G. Martin and Dr Freeman-Grenville. These are:

              • Letter from Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Dr. Freeman-Grenville to enquire whether he had requested 25 additional offprints. If he hadn't the Society would pay the outstanding debt to the printers. Dated 8 June 1977.
              • Letter from Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Dr. B.G. Martin, similarly asking whether he had requested additional offprints. Dated 8 June 1977.
              • Letters from Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Dr. B.G. Martin, and Dr. Freeman-Grenville to inform that she had paid the debt to Stephen Austin as she had failed to receive a reply from either of them. Both dated 26 July 1977.
              • Letter from Dr. B.G. Martin to Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society to inform that he felt the debt was a clerical error of the Society's but he is sending a placatory cheque, dated 4 August 1977.

              Correspondence concerned with the Journal sent and received in the 1950s and 1960s. These are:

              • Correspondence concerning the publication of an article by the late Sir Ellis Minns on "Frozen Scythic Barrows". These include letters from [L.J] Lindgren to Sir Richard Winstedt, and William Watson, Assistant keeper, Department of Oriental Antiquities, British Museum, to Mrs Davis, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society. Four letters, dated 7 June 1954 - 15 February 1957. The last letter is annotated with a note to state that Dr Lindgren had failed to complete the editing of the article and more recent articles had now superseded its relevance.
              • Letter from R.M.S. Morrison to Sir Richard Winstedt to thank him for agreeing to put the paper, "On the beginnings of the Ismaili Dawat in Northern India" by Dr. Abbas H. al-Hamdani before the Editorial Committee for possible publication in the Journal, dated 2 February 1956. With the letter is an extract from a letter by Dr al-Hamdani that Morrison had received.
              • Letter from H. Ellinton to the Royal Asiatic Society, to enquire whether the Society had published a report on the excavations carried out by Dr Viola Pettit, dated 8 January 1957.
              • Letter from K.A.C. Creswell to Sir Richard Winstedt complaining about the lack of reviews of his publications, dated 12 September 1962.
              • Letter from Edward Ullendorff to D.M. Lang to inform that after the Conference in July he would be in a position to know which of the Ethiopic material would be relevant for the Journal, dated 11 April 1963.
              • Correspondence concerning the printing of the article "Etudes d'Orientalisme dédiées à la mémoire de Lévi-Provencal". Three items, dated 18 November - 11 December 1963.
              • Correspondence concerning an article by Mr. M. Abir which was considered to Asiatic for the Journal of African History and a subsequent later revised publication in Les Annales. Nine items, dated 18 February 1964- 9 November 1965.

              Five items of correspondence, a photograph and a news cutting. These are:

              • Letter from E. J. Rapson to Miss Hughes, Secretary Royal Asiatic Society, to include a photo of a Buddhist sculpture sent to him by Mr W. S. Talbot and extract from a letter from Dr. Burgess concerning the finding of the sculpture, with the suggestion that more may be received after his article in the Journal. The letter is dated 1 May 1901, the photograph is with the letter.
              • Letter to Colonel Hoysted, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, from [Jaul Charpeurnix] regarding writing book reviews. Dated 20 July, 1932. This letter was found inside Hilfsbuch des Pehlevi, Vol.1 by H.S. Nyberg.
              • Letter from H.W. Bailey to Sir Richard [Winstedt] regarding a review by Professor Schaeffer which had been given to Bailey, dated 24 August 1943.
              • Letter from E. Edwards to Mrs Davis, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to return a paper by Mr. Szczesniak which he had been asked to review. Edwards suggests that it is suitable for publication in the Journal, dated 7 January 1944.
              • Letter from Townley Dearle to Mrs Davis, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to thank for her letter and to send a news cutting "Found: 100 Giants" which mentions Dr Viola Petitt of the Royal Asiatic Society, and a copy of his recent play. Dated 10 September 1947. The cutting is with the letter.
