• Letter from Simon Gimson, Buckingham Palace, to Lydia Collins, Secretary to Royal Asiatic Society, to inform, that with considerable regret the Queen has decided that her Patronage must draw to a close. She wishes to give time for them to find a new Patron so will withdraw her Patronage from the beginning of 2000. She has raised the matter with the Prince of Wales, the Society's Vice-Patron and he would be delighted to accept the Patronage if this is what the Society would like to request. Letter from J.
