He is seriously concerned regarding her news of suffering and will wait with anxiety for the following day's post hoping for a favourable turn. He has business of a pressing nature that keeps him in town and prevents him from coming to Brighton. Handwritten, dated 21 January 1820.

Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke. He is pleased to hear that Mrs Lee is now in Brighton and convalescing - he hopes there will be no relapse. His new Linnean Club was established yesterday. Her aunt has come to town and is lodged with Lady Lillie in Devonshire Street. His house will be ready whenever their invalid can be moved. Handwritten, dated 2 February 1820.

Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke. He hopes that he is now over halfway through his time away. He has found conditions in the Colony worse than expected. He is making arrangements concerning his property which he hopes will make a small amount of money or at least stop the drain. Colebrooke finds the heat irksome and unfavourable to research. Handwritten, dated 10 February 1822.

Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke. He thanks Belinda for her letter, the only one he has received from England and which was waiting for him on his return to Hottentots' Holland after an excursion. He will shortly go to Cape Town to make preparations for embarkation. He thanks Belinda for her report of her time in the convent and also notes that the papers have arrived. The letter continues from Cape Town where he is disappointed to find his notary is confined to bed and therefore Colebrooke is unable to carry out his transactions. Handwritten, dated 12,19 March 1822.

Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Lady Smith (nee Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke) in which Colebrooke asks that she thank Mrs Smith for her kindness in inviting the boys but they are rather shy and their studies would be too interrupted if they were to take up the kind offer to visit. He is sorry to here that Belinda might not be able to get a Philharmonic subscription and writes also of books in which she may be interested. Handwritten, dated 13 December 1823.

Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Lady Smith (nee Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke). He writes that the young folk cannot resist the invitation of Belinda and Mrs Smith and will go on Tuesday after attending the pantomime on Monday but his own arrangements come too close together to make himself one of the party. He finishes by reminding that Sir George Madden will expect his quarter rent without asking for it. Handwritten, dated 27 December 1823.
