The Society has employed a Librarian throughout its history. It has also employed Assistant Librarians and since 2014, an Archivist. This material contains Job descriptions for these posts:

Correspondence concerned with administration of activities for care and accessibility of the Collections. Much of this is not kept for archival purposes. These documents give illustration of the type of material produced in administration of the Collections.

"Our London Streets No. X. A Plea for the Friendless and Fallen: An Extract from the Annual Report of the London Female Preventative & Reformatory Institution". Appeal pamphlet and Notices for funds to aid the institution. Printed material, 3 items, dated January 1865.

"Extract Report made from the East-India College of the General Examination of the Students, in the Month of December 1817". The Report for Hodgson and his grades scored in the different subjects. Printed paper with handwritten insertions, dated December 1817.

Hodgson kept many newspaper cuttings both about his own life and about the subjects in which he was interested. Though some of these are located with other material, such as in the Autograph book (BHH/1), there are 119 loose cuttings within his Papers.

"The Indian Field" which includes an article "The New India Bill" on the folly of Lord Ellenborough's New India Bill, for which the journalist has been unable to find anyone in support of the bill. This article is annotated by Hodgson. Dated 8 May 1858.

Cutting from The Homeward Mail with article entitled, "Children of Nature" concerning the "Hill Tracts of Chittagong and the Dwellers therein". Hodgson has added the title "Kyimgtha & Toungtha". Dated 26 June 1869.

Cutting from The Homeward Mail with article entitled,"Mr Forsyth's Mission to Yarkand" which is an initial report of the mission undertaken. Hodgson has added his own title. Date 10 September 1870.
