He writes of his appreciation of Hodgson's support for Monier Williams' project to found the Indian Institute at Oxford and for his ongoing interest in it. He refers to Brian Hodgson's name as a subscriber to papers published by the Institute and writes concerning a transcription (in Nagari and Latin) of the popular ancient Buddhist formula.
