Senart writes of his appreciation of Hodgson's contribution to scientific research and studies and of his eager anticipation of the arrival of the pamphlet. Letter from Sir Monier Monier Williams to Mrs. Susan Hodgson in which he acknowledges receipt of the copy of the pamphlet on Brian Hodgson's work. He writes of his appreciation of Hodgson's support for Monier Williams' project to found the Indian Institute at Oxford and for his ongoing interest in it. He refers to Brian Hodgson's name as a subscriber to papers published by the Institute and writes concerning a transcription (in Nagari and Latin) of the popular ancient Buddhist formula. Handwritten in English and Sanskrit, 2 sides, dated 16 January 1887.
