The Royal Asiatic Society has produced a Journal from the early years of its formation and continues to do so. This material covers the records made in the production, administration and distribution of the Journal.

In 1889 a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Royal Asiatic Society and W.H. Allen and Company concerning the publishing of the Journal. This series contains that Memorandum and associated correspondence.

On the reverse of the letter, in a postscript, an offer is made to attend a Council Meeting and a note about receiving a letter from the Receiver.
