This series contains two letters connected to the Patronage of Queen Victoria.
Hobhouse John Cam 1786-1869Correspondence concerned with Prince Charles as Vice-Patron of the Royal Asiatic Society. These are:
- Draft letter from the Royal Asiatic Society to Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, to ask whether he would consent to become Vice Patron of the Society. Typed letter with handwritten corrections and annotations, undated.
- Letter from Squadron-Leader David Checketts, Buckingham Palace, to B.W. Robinson, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that Prince Charles has agreed to become Vice Patron thus making an exception to his decision to refuse such invitations during his navel career. His attendance at the Society's Triennial Dinner is under consideration. Typed letter with printed letterhead, dated 29 November 1972.
- Letter from Squadron-Leader David Checketts, Buckingham Palace, to B.W. Robinson, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that the Prince has no objection to his name appearing as Vice Patron in the Society's Journal. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 4 December 1972.
- Copy of a letter from B.W. Robinson, Royal Asiatic Society, to Squadron-Leader David Checketts, Buckingham Palace, to acknowledge the Prince's permission for his name to be in the Journal. Typed, dated 16 December 1972.
The Royal Asiatic Society from 23-27 July 1973 entitled "The Undeciphered Languages". The material in this series covers the administration, correspondence and advertising of this Symposium.

- Letter from Simon Gimson, Buckingham Palace, to Lydia Collins, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that he will ensure the Queen sees the Society's letter and that she should write to Stephen Lamport, the Prince of Wales's Private Secretary, concerning the Prince's Patronage. - Letter from Lydia Collins, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Stephen Lamport, St James's Palace, to ask whether the Prince of Wales would become the Patron of the Society. Typed letter with printed letterhead, dated 27 February 1997.
- Letter from Stephen Lamport, St James's Palace, to Lydia Collins, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that the Society's request for the Prince to become Patron will be considered at a meeting in a few weeks time. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 4 March 1997.
- Letter from Stephen Lamport, St James's Palace, to Lydia Collins, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that the Prince has agreed to take on the Patronage of the Royal Asiatic Society, initially for a five year term from 2000 to January 2005. Typed letter with printed letterhead, dated 15 July 1997.
- Letter from Francis Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Stephen Lamport, St James's Palace, to express the Society's pleasure that the Prince has agreed to become the Patron. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 25 July 1997.
Letter from J.E. Anson, Buckingham Palace, to Lord Fitzgerald which he writes on command of Prince Albert to return thanks to the Vice Patrons, Presidents, Officers and Members of the Royal Asiatic Society for their letter of congratulations on the late escape of the Queen. Their letter had been laid before the Marquis of Exeter.
