The book covers many of the dialects of the region. The book begins with a letter from Hodgson explaining that he is sending four series of Vocabularies of Himalayan tongues divided into 2 parts. This copy is annotated by Hodgson and also contains a loose leaf of manuscript. The book is 270 pages and is dated 4 October, 1857. Printed bound book with handwritten annotations.
