Correspondence with the British Council concerning the Symposium for the Royal Asiatic Society's Sesquicentenary. These are:

• Letter from F. Llewellyn, British Council, to B.W. Robinson, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that the Council were looking into the possibility of assistance for foreign scholars attending the Symposium, date 11 September 1972.
• Letter from F. Llewellyn, British Council, to B.W. Robinson, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that, in principle, the Council would be willing to contribute to fares from Paris and accommodation for 3 delegates, dated 29 September 1982.
• Letter from President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Dr Llewellyn, British Council, to thank for the Council's tentative offer to help with costs for some delegates, dated 17 October 1972.
• Letter from B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Dr Llewellyn, British Council, to give full details of the Symposium and to ask for financial help for some scholars, dated 25 April 1983.
• Letter from P.R.V. Deed, British Council to B.W. Robinson, Royal Asiatic Society, to give details of the financial assistance they will offer and to reply concerning the possibility of the Council hosting a reception during the Symposium, dated 23 May 1973.
• Letter from A.D.H. Bivar, Director, Royal Asiatic Society, to Mr Deed, British Council, to thank for his letter, to give details of how to process payments for the delegates and to fix a date for the reception, dated 9 June 1973.
• Letter from P.R.V. Deed, British Council to A.D.H. Bivar, Director, Royal Asiatic Society, to state that Bivar's letter has been passed on to the Director Visitors Department, dated 13 June 1973.
