              'Copy of a letter from Capt. Gill, addressed to Col. Sykes, dated at Adjuntah, 16 October, 1849' in which he writes of his concern that his paintings had not arrived when Sykes had written to him. He has continued to copy the cave paintings and writes of those and inscriptions. He also writes concerning Professor Wilson's remarks upon his paintings and of some things Wilson seems to have missed.

              Four pencil, ink and ink wash scaled drawings of painted figures from Cave No. 3. Included partial figures which decorate three columns, alongside some annotations and notes pertaining to the remaining columns, as well as a partial female figure who flanks the colossal Buddha on the right side of the verandah. Scale is one inch to a foot.

              The beginning of a scaled drawing of a doorkeeper from the right of the entrance to Cave No. 72. Depicted is only the headdress, outline of the shoulders, and the end of what is likely a weapon. Included are some notes of the colours of the painting. Scale in one inch to a foot.

              An unfinished polychrome scaled copy of the wall painting in what is presumed to be Cave No. 51. The image depicts a large central enthroned figure of the Buddha surrounded by attending figures. To the right appears to be another figure seated on a double lotus. Further figures are alluded to.

              Two polychrome scaled copies of paintings from Cave No. 16 and No. 21. The copy of the painting from Cave No. 16, which depicts a group of robed figures on the ceiling of the cave, is unfinished. The copy from Cave No. 21 depicts the remains of a grid of seated figures on the back wall of the cave, as well as some surrounding architectural detail. The scale of this drawing is one inch to a foot.
