Letter from Eugène Burnouf to Brian Houghton Hodgson introducing Mr. Théroulde, a student of Sanskrit. Burnouf acknowledges the receipt of the copies of Sanskrit Buddhist manuscripts including a magnificent copy of Rakṣābhagavatī. The letter includes names of various famous Buddhist religious texts along with a discourse on Buddhism itself. Handwritten in French, 3 sides, dated 15 July 1837.

Letter from Eugène Burnouf to Brian Houghton Hodgson to thank Hodgson for his correspondence on Buddhism and his generosity in giving Nepali manuscripts. Handwritten in French, 4 sides, dated 16 May 1845.

"List of Buddha Books & drawings, & of Statistics of Nepaul left in Residency in five Boxes, by B.H.Hodgson, Dec 1st 1837." Each box is individually listed and a sixth package also listed. Further notes are added and there is an additional heading which states that the boxes were repackaged in 1844 to take home. There is a note that all his literary and scientific stores are to go, in case of his death, to his father who will dispose of them to the advantage of Hodgson's reputation.
