This series contains published material, pertaining to the Donations given by Brian Houghton Hodgson and the Honours conferred upon him, which were present within his Papers.

This is an offprint of Gogerly's translation of the Saccavibhaṅga sutta. Translated from Sinhalese as early as 1837 in Sri Lanka (Ceylon). The translation is presented on 3 long paper sheets, and includes many handwritted corrections and notes. The first publication of this work took place in 1840 in Colombo, Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Later reprinted in 1908, in London. The Saccavibhaṅga sutta belongs to the Mahā Pirit Pota ('The Great Book of Protection'), which is a Theravāda Buddhist text of rituals to be performed on particular occasions in Sri Lanka for spiritual and physical protection. 44cmX14cm.

Report from Raya Rajendrala Mitra Bahadur to the Secretary to the Government of Bengal concerning the Gayá temple. Printed document which was sent to Hodgson by the author in October 1877. Contains some of Hodgson's annotations, 1 item, dated October 1877.

"Revue des Deux Mondes" for 1 March 1860, containing the article "Le Bouddhisme et son Législateur" by Alfred Jacobs, which has been annotated by Hodgson. Printed journal in French, 1 item, dated 1 March 1860.

This is a letter from a Rev R. Spence Hardy writing to J W Redhouse, Secretary of the RAS, in which he informs the RAS of Gogerly's death and writes; "It is not certain yet what will be dome with Gogerly's collections towards a Pali Dictionary. If I live to return home, I may send it to prepare with additions from other quarters". Handwritten, 4 sides, dated 11 September 1863

This is a printed version of the Sāsanavaṃsa-dīpaya text written in Sinhalese. The book was printed in 1903, in Sri Lanka. It has 160 uncut pages and a red paper cover. The Sāsanavaṃsa-dīpaya is a history of the Buddhist order in Burma, composed by the Burmese monk Paññāsāmi in 1861. It was originally written in Pāli prose, and is based on earlier documents in Pāli and Burmese. The cover is slightly fragile. Approx. 21.5cmX14.5cm.
