In Duggan's article "From Indian Waters: Some Old Letters" (JRAS, 1958) it is recorded that these Bills of Exchange were found within a letter from Purefoy to Robert Turbett written in March 1819 from Mazagon which informed that he had been our of India for two years. This letter is no longer with the Papers.
