              Letter from M. F. Serpell to Dennis J. Duncanson in response to Duncanson's letter on 05 June 1971. Serpell writes to send Duncanson a copy of the report on the second seminar on Village Defence and Development, the prospectus for the third seminar and proposals for the conduct of the "clearing-house" which the second seminar proposed and which SEATO has approved. Serpell ends the correspondence with a request for Duncanson to offer comments on the proceedings and plans. There is a second, unsigned, copy of this correspondence. Attached document is a Prospectus for the third seminar on village defence and Development in March, 1972 (8 pages).

              Letter from Chamras Mandukananda to J. L. Jones (British Embassy, Bangkok) which encloses a summary of matters raised at a liaison meeting held in Bangkok on 20 July 1973 concerning the "Seminar on Home Defence" to be held in Manila from 27 August to 01 September 1973. The enclosures are "Notes of Liaison Meeting Held at 1400 Hours on 20 July 1973" [2 pages] and "Project Committee: Seminar on Home Defence" [dated 23 July 1973, 5 pages]

              Letter from Chamras Mandukananda to Dennis J. Duncanson in response to Duncanson's letter of 30 June 1973. Mandukananda approves of the title of Duncanson's keynote address to the Seminar. He further writes to advise that delegates should be prepared to discuss 'common features and national variations within rural areas of South-East Asia', as well as to 'include comment on the use of subversion, insurgency and regular Communist forces in relation to the future of the guerilla within the region'.
