Duncan Sandys, Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations, to express the concern felt by the Council of the Society over press statements regarding possible transfer of the contents of the India Office Library to India and Pakistan. Duncan Sandys, Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations, to Sir Richard Winstedt, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to assure him that the Government are aware of British academic interest in the future of the India Office Library.
