              A letter sent from Matt Magee, Deputy Private Secretary to the King, to send the King's thanks for the message of sympathy sent by the Society following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.               After Charles became King, all his patronages were considered. This material concerns his decision to continue his patronage of the Royal Asiatic Society. There are two letters:

              • Letter from Sir Clive Alderton, Principal Private Secretary to the King and Queen, Buckingham Palace, to Dr Alison Ohta, Director, Royal Asiatic Society to inform that in the review of the patronages of the late Queen and the former Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, it was decided that the King would be delighted to retain his patronage of the Society. Typed letter with printed letterhead, 1 piece, dated 3 May 2024. With the letter is the accompanying envelope.
              • Copy of a letter from Dr Alison Ohta to Sir Clive Alderton to express on behalf of the Society, their delight in hearing that the King will retain the patronage and the wish of the Society to present His Majesty with a copy of the new limited edition of James Tod's Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan. Typed, 2 pieces, dated 8 May 2024.
