Letter from India Office to Lord Reay, replying on behalf of Lord Morley, concerning the possibility of the Royal Asiatic Society joining with other associations to gain better accommodation for the Society. With this letter is a further letter setting out the terms offered to the other Societies, and the India Office suggests that is these are acceptable to the Royal Asiatic Society, they are requested to depute some person to confer with representatives of the other Associations. This further letter is present.

The lease was for a Fine of £8000 with a rent of £350. This is a copy of the original that was certified as a true copy of the original on 2 September 1948.
