As part of the Sesquicentenary several Fellows went to give lectures at schools. This series contains administrative material and correspondence concerned with these lectures.

Correspondence concerning a Lecture at St Felix School, Southwold, Suffolk. These are:

• Letter from Susan Skilliter to Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform that St. Felix School would love to host a lecture and to give the details of the headmistress, dated 12 June 1972.
• Letter from President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Miss M. Oakeley, Headmistress, St. Felix School, to ask on what subject they might like a lecture, dated 10 July 1972.
• Letter from Miss M. Oakeley, Headmistress, St. Felix School, to President, Royal Asiatic Society, to ask for a talk on Oriental art or travel and to suggest a day, dated 14 July 1972.
• Letter from President, Royal Asiatic Society, to Miss M. Oakeley, Headmistress, St. Felix School, to give further suggestion regarding the nature of the lecture, dated 31 July 1972.

Correspondence concerning organising a lecture at Winchester College. These are:

• Letter from B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to The Headmaster, Winchester College to thank for his letter about timings of the lecture and to suggest a talk about the Persian national epic, dated 23 May 1972.
• Letter from The Headmaster, Winchester College, to B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform that he will be in contact in the future concerning the date for the lecture, dated 2 June 1972.
• Letter from The Headmaster, Winchester College, to B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to suggest that the lecture is presented to the Archaeological Society in February or March of the following year, dated 11 October 1972.
• Letter from B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to The Headmaster, Winchester College to state his agreement with the Headmaster regarding the talk and that he would wait to hear about a date, dated 17 October 1972.

Correspondence concerning the possibility of a lecture at Eton College. These are:

• Letter from Reverend John Oliver, Eton College, to Susan Skilliter to suggest that the lecture might take the form of one on Oriental religions, dated 24 October 1972.
• Letter from Susan Skilliter to Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform her that Stuart Simmonds might do the Eton lecture on Buddhism, dated 10 November 1972.
• Letter from B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to the Headmaster, Eton College, to ask if they would be interested in hosting a lecture, dated 1 January 1973.

In celebration of the Royal Asiatic Society's sesquicentenary various exhibitions of its collections were arranged. This series contains material concerned with organising and documenting those exhibitions.

An exhibition "Richard Johnson (1753-1807), Nabob, Collector and Scholar" was held at the India Office Library, mounted for the Sesquicentenary of the Royal Asiatic Society. The material in connection with this exhibition is:

• Exhibition catalogue for the Exhibition held in the Conference Room, 197 Blackfriars Road, from 1 August 1973, 2 copies.
• Letter from J. Lancaster, India Office Library, to Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to invite members of the Society to an evening reception to view the Exhibition, dated 24 August 1973.
• Letter from Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to Joan Lancaster, India Office Library, to thank her for the hospitality shown on the occasion of the Society's visit to the Exhibition, dated 5 December 1973.
• Guest List for "Reception for the Royal Asiatic Society - 28 November 1973".

Correspondence with book sellers concerning the possibility of them putting on a display to highlight the Royal Asiatic Society's sesquicentenary. These are:

• Draft letter from Royal Asiatic Society to booksellers explaining about the anniversary and asking about the possibility of them mounting a display of books in conjunction with this, dated 21 April 1971.
• Letter from Peter R. Basdeo, Kegan Paul, Trench Trubner & Co., to B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform that they were willing to put on a display but could they be reminded nearer the time, dated 23 April 1971.
• Letter from B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to A. Aris, Kegan Paul, Trench Trubner & Co., to ask if the company was still willing to host a display, then would they please contact him, dated 25 January 1973.
• Letter from Clifford Maggs, Maggs Bros. Ltd., to B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to suggest they might do an Asiatic catalogue and include a leaflet about the Royal Asiatic Society, dated 2 May 1971.
