Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke. He advises that Belinda and Harriet do not travel abroad while they are still waiting to hear from the Lord President concerning their custody. He hopes the Lord President will agree to them quitting Scotland and coming to reside with Colebrooke. He has not looked to take on the role of guardianship because of outstanding issues concerning family property. He considers that foreign education, though cheap, is not suitable for English women. Handwritten, dated 23 January 1817.
