              The Madras Literary Society became allied to the Royal Asiatic Society in 1830. This material was gathered from the interaction between the two societies. These are:

              Correspondence with the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India, regarding the obtaining of articles from past copies of the Journal for the Library, dated 24 August 1979-13 December 1979. With the correspondence is a list of articles annotated to mark which articles are required by the Library. The Society was not able to conform to the whole request but sent offprints of some articles and suggested the Library obtain a microfiche of the Journals from the Inter Documentation Company.
