Letter from Robert Gordon Latham to Brian Houghton Hodgson in which he acknowledges the receipt of Hodgson's letters and works, and discusses ethnological and linguistic points relating to Aryans, Europeans and various Himalayan tribes including Chepangs, Magars, Gurungs, Kusundas, Hayus, Lhopa. Handwritten, 3 sides, dated 10 August 1852.

The paper "On the Kirânti tribe of the central Himalaya by B.H. Hodgson also with this document in which Hodgson sets out to explain the Kirânti language. Handwritten, 13 pieces, Nov 1857. Four items connected to Hodgson's ethnographic research.

Rough lists of Ethnographical and Architectural drawings, literary matters, Summary of heads of matters contained in drawings and MSS to guide Khardan in listing them. Handwritten lists, 3 pieces, 8 sides, dated 1845-1852.

"Photos of Himal-races". List of photographs of different ethnic tribes of the Himalayas. Single piece of papers enclosed within a large paper folded as a packet which also has similar list written on it. Also enclosed is a newspaper header for The Bengal Hurkaru for 27 May 1854 on which Hodgson has written "Nepal series No. 1 to 26 Besides duplicates. Nov 79". Handwritten and printed material, 3 pieces, dated 1854-1879.

"On the Indo-Chinese Borderers (Reprinted from Journal No.1 1853)" Offprint of two papers from the Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal. The first is "On the Indo-Chinese Borderers and their connexion with the Himálayans and Tibetans." The second is "On the Mongolian Affinities of the Caucasians". On the front page, Hodgson has written "J.D. Hooker with affectionate regards". Unbound printed material, 76 pages, 1853.

"On the Chépáng and Kúsúnda tribes of Népal, by B.H. Hodgson, Esq." from the Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal, 1857. Unbound offprint with a few handwritten annotations by Hodgson, 9 pages, published in Journal in 1857.

"Missions of Mongolia" by Thomas M. le Grand from the Annals of the Propagation of the Faith Vol. VIII, July 1847. Offprint from the Annals of the Propagation of the Faith, Vol. VIII, July 1847, pp. 205-275, comprising several letters from missionaries in Mongolia and Western Tonquin, the first of which (Letter of Rev. Huc) has been copiously annotated by Hodgson. Soft cover. Ms. note on the first page: "For Mr Hodgson, with Archbishop Carew's respectful compliments". 72 pages.
