• Correspondence and loan form between the British Library and the Royal Asiatic Society concerning the loan of manuscripts for the Library's 'The Art of the Book in India' April - August 1982. Four pieces, typed, printed and handwritten, dated 9 September 1981 - 2 April 1982.
• Correspondence between the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Royal Asiatic Society concerning the loan of James Wales' portrait of The Maratha Peshwa and Nana Fadnavis and Patrick Waugh's 'Jain Temple at Kumbhalmer' for the Museum's 'India Observed 1700-1860' as part of the Festival of India 1981 -1982. • Correspondence, loan forms and copies of newspaper articles between the Arts Council of Great Britain and the Royal Asiatic Society concerning the loan of paintings to the 'In the Image of Man' Exhibition to be held at the Hayward Gallery, March to June 1982. • Correspondence between the Centro Piementose di Studi sul Medio ed Estemo Oriente, Turin, Italy and the Royal Asiatic Society concerning the loan of two miniatures for the centre's 'Courtly Life in Rajasthan' Exhibition. Five pieces, typed, dated 12 September 1984 - 23 April 1985.

Sackler Gallery, Smithsonian Institute, Washington, the British Library and the Royal Asiatic Society concerning the loan of the Society's Shahnama manuscript for the 'Timur and the Princely Vision' Exhibition to be held in 1989. • Correspondence between the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the British Library and the Royal Asiatic Society concerning the loan of the Society's Masnavi manuscript for the 'Romance of the Taj Mahal' Exhibition, 1989. Typed and photocopied, 22 pieces, dated 14 August 1987 - October 1989.
• Correspondence from Beth Hatefutsoth, The Nahum Goldman Museum of the Jewish Diaspora, Israel, to the Royal Asiatic Society concerning possible loan of visual material concerned with Jews in Iraq before 1952. Typed, 3 pieces, dated 18 July - 15 November 1988.
• Correspondence and publicity material between the British Library and the Royal Asiatic Society concerning the loan of Malay and Javanese manuscripts for the 'Paper and Gold: Illuminated Manuscripts from the Indonesian Archipelago, held July - October 1990. • Correspondence and loan forms between the National Portrait Gallery, London and the Royal Asiatic Society concerning the loan of paintings for the exhibition, 'The Raj: India and the British 1600-1947'. Typed and printed, 22 pieces, dated 31 January 1990 - 23 April 1991.

• Letter from Marjorie Topley, Past President of Hong Kong Branch, to Miss Gibson, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning her possible attendance at the Annual General Meeting. Handwritten, dated 6 April 1984.
• Letter from James Hayes, President, Hong Kong Branch, to Dennis Duncanson, Director, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning a forthcoming seminar to be held at the Hong Kong Branch on Hong Kong's approach to 1997. Typed, dated 31 July 1986. With the letter is a letter from Ian A Deane to James Hayes concerning the seminar, dated 25 July 1986; papers concerning the proposed conference; and a handwritten copy of a letter from Duncanson to Deane concerning his potential visit to the Royal Asiatic Society.
• Further correspondence between James Hayes and Dennis Duncanson concerning the papers sent, and to enclose a copy of the Draft Agreement for 26 September 1984 (not present) and a copy of press cutting from the South China Morning Post for 16 April 1986, entitled "Draft for the Basic Law" (present). Two letters typed, dated 7 August 1986- 13 August 1986.
• Letter from David Gilkes, President, Hong Kong Branch, to Michael Pollock, Librarian, Royal Asiatic Society, to thank Pollock and Godfrey Goodwin for showing him around the Royal Asiatic Society and to send copies of a short history of the Hong Kong Branch (one copy is with the letter). Typed, dated 11 August 1990.

• Correspondence between Tan Sri Datuk Mubin Sheppard, Honorary Secretary, Malaysian Branch, and Dennis Duncanson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning representation of the Malaysian branch at the forthcoming celebrations of the 106th anniversary of the Royal Asiatic Society. Six letters, typed, dated 6 October 1982-10 March 1983.
• Letter from Tan Sri Datuk Mubin Sheppard, Honorary Secretary, Malaysian Branch, to Dennis Duncanson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning the request from the Chairman of the Penang Museums Board for the presentation by the Royal Asiatic Society of the painting, "A View of Flag Staff Point on Prince of Wales Island taken on board the Viper Snow, 22nd October 1787." Typed, with copy of image, dated 17 January 1984.
• Letter from Tan Sri Datuk Mubin Sheppard, Honorary Secretary, Malaysian Branch, to E.V. Gibson, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to thank for the information which unfortunately arrived too late to be included in the current issue of the Journal. Typed, dated 25 June 1985.

It appears that the Library Committee was not active at this time. However there are several letters concerning the oversight of the Library. These are:

• Letter from Anthony Bennell to B.C. Bloomfield to include a draft to restimulate the Library Policy Committee. Typed letter with Draft Note from Director, Royal Asiatic Society to Honorary Librarian, dated 21 July 1981.
• Letter from B C Bloomfield to Anthony Bennell in which he gives his priorities for the Society's care of its collections. Typed with printed letterhead, dated 27 July 1981.
• "A Note from the Hon. Librarian" Report by Simon Digby on the Collections of the Society and possible projects for their care. Typed, undated.
• "Draft Note by the Director" concerning the collections and use of the Library. Typed, undated.
• Letter from Director to Honorary Librarian addressing some of the issues in relation to the Library. Typed, dated 11 September 1981.
• Letter from Selkirk to Anthony Bennell regarding government assistance with the Collections. Typed with handwritten annotations, dated 11 November 1981.
