These folders contain handwritten sermon outlines, most of which are dated with some having further dates as to when they were subsequently reviewed. They cover from the time of John Drew Bate's training through most of his missionary life in India. Interleaved with many of the Manuscripts are scraps of paper with additional notes.The early outlines also contain notes on Literature and poetry.
Material concerning the Royal Asiatic Society's Sesquicentenary Dinner held on 25th October 1973 at the Merchant Taylors' Hall.

Buckingham PalaceAs Simon Digby notes, this small bound volume is an incomplete copy of James Thomason's settlement report on the district of Azamgarh, from 1837. On the front cover is a label in Elliot's hand noting that is for his Glossary, and on the inside cover is his personal, named label. The volume has sporadic notes, presumably Elliot's, throughout.
