Thomas Manning, in later life, was concerned with the question of Roman Catholic emancipation. This subseries consists of drafts Manning made for letters and articles, other reference notes and newspaper cuttings concerning the issue.
Notes regarding the Thomas Manning Archive. These were all in the Thomas Manning Archive at acquisition but have been compiled by a later hand. They are mainly lists regarding the papers.

There are seven folders of material covering the draft manuscript and research notes for a book that Cloake intended to publish on the events leading up to Azerbaijan Crisis of 1945-47, the crisis itself, and its aftermath. According to the donor, his book was researched during Cloake's time at the London School of Economics, 1972-1973.
Notes and lists of references for Davis' commentary on 'The Journey to Arzrum' and the 'History of Pugachev', including a collection of British Library request slips showing the books consulted in research.
