In the Annual General Meeting on 12 May 1932, the Council passed a resolution that the Ambassador or Minister of every Oriental Power accredited to the Court of St. James' should be invited to become a Foreign Extraordinary Member of the Society, under the terms of Rule 10 of the Charter, which stipulated that ‘Foreign potentates or distinguished officials of Oriental Powers may be admitted by the Council to be Foreign Extraordinary Members’.
