Asiatic Society of Bengal 1784- Kolkata, IndiaFurther comments by David Hall and a letter from David Hall to Angus Graham to thank Graham for sending proposed revisions for an article and to further discuss the points raised by Graham. Graham has annotated some Chinese script on the reverse of one piece.
Hall David LThe move of the Society from Queen's Gardens necessitated the sale of some furniture and curtains. This material includes correspondence with The Curtain Exchange, Lloyds International Auction Galleries, and Christie's. It also includes a Catalogue for Christie's Auction of Furniture and Decorative Objects held on 11 October 2005, when some of the Society's furniture was in the sale.
Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and IrelandAs part of the Quaritch Wales bequest several items of furniture were donated for use of the Royal Asiatic Society. Originally there were 6 items of furniture with the addition of a small Thai manuscript chest (see lists in QW/14/5). Of these three items have subsequently been sold when the Society moved premises. The remaining ones are listed within this series.
