Sin títuloThis is a series of correspondence between W.E.D. Allen and Humphrey Higgens mainly concerning working on material for use in Allen's work on Russian Embassies.
Sin títuloLetter from H. Higgens to W.E.D. Allen in which Higgens agrees to translate the texts for Allen by early May and suggests that they meet during Allen's visit to Col. Wheeler should any further issues arise. Dated: 22 February 1963.
Sin títuloLetter from H. Higgens to W.E.D. Allen in which Higgens suggest that it is unlikely that there will be any need for Allen to contact him when Allen is in London and should the need arises Higgens will call Allen's office to arrange a meeting. Dated: 28 February 1963.
Sin títuloLetter from W.E.D. Allen to H. Higgens in which Allen tells Higgens that he is currently pre-occupied with other matters and hence is not in a hurry to have the Yelchin translations. Dated: 22 May 1964.
Letter from H. Higgens to W.E.D. Allen in which Higgens informs Allen that he is not yet finished with the translation of the full text but could possibly let Allen have a translation of the notes on the text though he doesn't think the notes are useful without the text itself. Allen has added a note on the letter saying to ring Higgens when he is in London to say he is not in hurry to get the translation since he is busy with other business matters. Dated: 14 July 1964.
Sin títuloLetter from H. Higgens to W.E.D. Allen in which Higgens asks Allen to pay for the last piece of translation he did for him, at a rate agreed in a letter from 6 October. He writes that he is working his way through Allen's book and will leave it at his office once he has finished it. He asks if Allen could 'xenograph' another book, which Allen's wife 'will not allow to leave the house', so that he can read it and attempt to translate its Russian text. He also offers to sub-edit Allen's work for the Hakluyt Society. Dated: 21 December 1964.
Sin títuloLetter from H. Higgens to W.E.D. Allen in which Higgens promises to send back comments on the bibliography. He says he has finished correcting the proofs of the index to his revision of Constance Garnett's translation of Herzen's memoirs, which will come out in the Spring (he offers to give a copy to Allen). Dated: 13 July 1967.
