Letter to "My Dear Sir" in which the writer stresses that the alterations to a paragraph are very important and that he wishes the paper to be seen by the Duke of Argyll. Possibly a draft letter of Hodgson's considering the content and the spelling Argyle but not in his hand. Handwritten, 3 sides, dated 3 April [1873].

Letter from unknown creator (but possibly Theophilus Goldridge Pinches) to a prospective publisher, writing at the request of Aristide Marre with a view to having the work published. He explains that the translation has been undertaken by Mrs Pinches and that he believes the work would be a useful introduction for beginners in the study of language of the Philippines. The letter is unsigned.
Pinches Theophilus G. 1856-1934Letter from David Richardson to E.A. Blundell to send a report on the information in his possession concerning the "outrage committed by the Laos [Shous] on their Birman frontier". He begins his account with information dating from 1837 and gives a report of the politics that he knows about the area. He reports on the different chiefs and their interactions. The letter is dated August 31st 183[9]. It appears to be a draft as it contains corrections and annotations.
