Letter to "My Dear Sir" in which the writer stresses that the alterations to a paragraph are very important and that he wishes the paper to be seen by the Duke of Argyll. Possibly a draft letter of Hodgson's considering the content and the spelling Argyle but not in his hand. Handwritten, 3 sides, dated 3 April [1873].

He explains that the translation has been undertaken by Mrs Pinches and that he believes the work would be a useful introduction for beginners in the study of language of the Philippines. The letter is unsigned.

Letter from David Richardson to E.A. Blundell to send a report on the information in his possession concerning the "outrage committed by the Laos [Shous] on their Birman frontier". He begins his account with information dating from 1837 and gives a report of the politics that he knows about the area. He reports on the different chiefs and their interactions. The letter is dated August 31st 183[9]. It appears to be a draft as it contains corrections and annotations.

Letter from Dr David Richardson to E.A. Blundell, Civil Commissioner in the Tenasserim Provinces, to report his return from the court of Siam and to forward a short abstract of his journey. There follows an account of his journey and of his time at the court of Siam. This seems to be a rough draft with corrections and annotations.
