Letter from Archibald Campbell to Brian Houghton Hodgson in which he writes that as Hodgson is to see Gridlestone (Charles Gridlestone, British resident) and Sir L. Mallet (Sir Louis Mallet CB PC), he may wish to have the full sketch of Relations up to Campbell's time which he sends. In a postscript he writes that he has been invited to Vienna and is sorely perplexed as to what to do. Handwritten, 1 piece, 3 sides, dated 20 April 1873.

Letter from Archibald Campbell to Brian Houghton Hodgson in which Campbell writes that the Society agrees about having Alcock on the Deputation if the time will suit him. However the Secretary does not want the Society to reprint Hodgson's Trade Paper. Campbell does not, as yet, know the time of the Deputation. He has promised to be at the William Taylor Lecture on the evening of the 25th and also to take 2 of the girls to the Exhibition on the same day. He asks if they may call at Hodgson's around 5pm. Letter from Archibald Campbell to Brian Houghton Hodgson in which he writes that Colonel Haughton is here at last and he has given him Hodgson's address. Campbell has asked Haughton to visit him as he is still unwell. Haughton is back with a Pension from the Navy of £200 a year on compulsory retirement and is talking of setting up at Beaugham. Letter from Archibald Campbell to Brian Houghton Hodgson in which he writes that he has sent his copy of some Papers to Haughton some time ago and when he returns them Campbell will send Stocqueler's to Hodgson.. He suggests that an occasional note from Hodgson to Haughton would be useful. Campbell had written to Sir G.C saying that "Nepal trade concerned him deeply independent of the passage into Thibet". Letter from Archibald Campbell to Brian Houghton Hodgson in which he writes that he has told Mallet about Weight's pamphlet and his impression that Gridlestone knew nothing about it. He writes more on his opinion of the situation and then switches to say he cannot remember who told him about Smith's trial and that Mrs Hooker has asked him to take charge of bringing Harriet to the Hodgson's which may delay their arrival. Letter from Archibald Campbell to Brian Houghton Hodgson in which he writes that he attended the meeting after all and was pleased to report an excellent meeting. Alcock, (Sir Rutherford Alcock) who had preceded Campbell, had said little about Turkestan but much about Nepal, Tibet and Sikkim. Campbell had arranged to meet up with him when next in London. Letter from Archibald Campbell to Brian Houghton Hodgson in which he writes that the snow frightens him and therefore he will probably not go up to the meeting that evening. In view of this he has sent a Paper to be read at the meeting. The Society (of Arts) proposes to follow up the meeting with a Deputation to the India Office and have named Hyde Clarke (1815 – 1895) and Campbell to follow up as regards Nepal and Tibet. They had urged Campbell to encourage Hodgson to join the Deputation but Campbell had pointed out that Hodgson would not come to any meeting. He asks whether Hodgson would send a memo to help. Campbell is concerned about their relationship and how Hodgson views their situation but hopes they will be released and able to meet face to face, and once released the Government will do its duty and Campbell will have little to regret of this time of imprisonment.
