Letter from Sir George Clerk to Colonel Burrowes, Formerly Private Secretary to Mountstuart Elphinstone, in which he apologises for the delay in replying to Hodgson's letter, but he has been an invalid. He praises Hodgson's diplomacy and his representation of the Government and regrets the treatment that Hodgson had received. Note in Hodgson's hand tells of the letter being addressed to Burrowes. Handwritten, 4 sides, dated 20 June 1863.
