On the reverse of each is written that they should be paid to Robert Turbett. They are both dated 1st March, 1819, printed with handwritten insertions, 2 items each 2 sides.

Copy of a letter from Col. Hoysted, Secretary of Royal Asiatic Society, to Major J.R. Cunningham to thank him for the material, on behalf of the Council. He first apologises for the delay in responding because, "The offices have been closed for the Christmas Holidays, and have been rather deranged by A.R.P. measures and the necessity of sending our treasures away to a place of safety". He states the material, "will be placed, with great pleasure, in the Society's Library, where it will be of value to students, who will be interested in the great changes you have reported upon".
