Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke. He writes to confirm that their plan of coming in the August would suit home very well, especially if Mr Mackenzie can escort them half way to Liverpool, Harrogate or Scarborough. He is glad to find she is in agreement concerning the votes in Lanarkshire and Colebrooke has appraised Lord Alfriston and Lord Archibald Hamilton concerning the matter. In a postscript he informs Belinda that her uncle has agreed to another year's stay in India. Handwritten, dated 26 April 1817.

Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke in which Colebrooke thanks her for her letter and hopes still to see her and Harriet though they have yet to arrange a suitable escort to England. Colebrooke will be visiting the Marquis of Northampton over Easter and therefore asks any correspondence to be addressed there. He thinks the Sutherlands will visit when he and the girls' grandmother return to Hampstead and supplies their address in Brighton. Handwritten, dated 24 March 1817.

Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke. He thanks her for her letter and says that he is travelling on to Bath from Salisbury that noon where he will receive her other letters. He hopes that Edward has not had a return of fever and agrees she should not send the Cash until she has Dr Nicholas's notice to receive him. He claims that Edward is much too extravagant and in the postscript writes more about how to handle him. He writes about the difficult situation in Glasgow and suspects it will not be resolved without a sharp contest. Handwritten, dated 23 September 1819.

Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke. He advises that Belinda and Harriet do not travel abroad while they are still waiting to hear from the Lord President concerning their custody. He hopes the Lord President will agree to them quitting Scotland and coming to reside with Colebrooke. He has not looked to take on the role of guardianship because of outstanding issues concerning family property. He considers that foreign education, though cheap, is not suitable for English women. Handwritten, dated 23 January 1817.

Letter from Henry Thomas Colebrooke to Belinda Sutherland Colebrooke in which he regrets that Belinda will have heard via Mr Mackenzie that it is necessary for him to contest for the County of Lanark. He says that Mr Mackenzie can show her all the correspondence and she must console herself with the benefits when she comes of age. Colebrooke's mother has returned from Castle Ashby and they expect Mrs Sutherland and Louisa from Brighton this week. Mary Ann goes back to Camberwell. Handwritten, dated 23 April 1817.

He is journeying to Edinburgh via the Lakes and some sights in Scotland and hence cannot give a firm date when he will reach Edinburgh. He hopes it will not be long until he visits Belinda. He sends regards to Mrs Lee (foster mother) and Belinda's sister, Harriet. Handwritten, dated 22 August 1816.

His new Linnean Club was established yesterday. Her aunt has come to town and is lodged with Lady Lillie in Devonshire Street. His house will be ready whenever their invalid can be moved.
