Petrie Hilda Flinders 1871-1956Letter from His Majesty's Commission of Works to Lord Chalmers, President of Royal Asiatic Society, agreeing to host a luncheon by the Government Hospitality Fund for 100 people on 17 July 1923 to celebrate the Centenary of the Royal Asiatic Society. A further handwritten note informs that Mr Beare called at the Royal Asiatic Society on 27 April and met Lord Chalmers. The Government offered a lunch for 100 guests at the Ritz or Claridge's. The letter is loose within the book.

Letter from Horace Hayman Wilson to My Dear Sir (unknown) enquiring about being able to purchase a copy of the Medal of Mehemet Ali for the East India House Museum. (The medal was produced by the Numismatic Society in honour of Mehemet Ali in 1841/2). The letter also refers to the Royal Asiatic Society not holding any meetings for some months and therefore Wilson will be unable to sign [Baghorn's certificate] for some time. Handwritten, dated 27 August [1842].
Letter from Horace Hayman Wilson to Bernard Quaritch to thank Quaritch for the copies of the Persian Grammar which he had presented to the India Office Library and to the Professor. Wilson states that the grammar seems likely to be very useful. Handwritten, 1 side, dated 31 August 1857.
