Norman Brown, University of Pennsylvania, to Sir Richard Winstedt, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to discuss points concerning the Oriental Congress and to send a report of the Joint Meeting of the American Oriental Society and Association for Asian Studies Committees concerning the International Congress of Orientalists, which took place in New York on 23 November 1962. The report is with the letter. On the reverse of the letter is a handwritten copy of the reply sent by Winstedt on 26 February 1963.

He also quotes from Lamb and that he is about to leave his employment. He thanks Manning for sending a coat of arms. He asks to be remembered to the Curtises.
